🌅 Reflection 10: Faithfulness Through the Season

A group of children listens attentively to a speaker in a classroom. The setting is colorful with posters. Text reads, "Reflection 10: Faithfulness Through the Season."

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

Each year at Empowering Quechuas tells its own story — of work and worship, of trials faced and triumphs earned. And as 2025 comes to a close, this story is one of endurance, gratitude, and the unfailing goodness of God.

From the mountains of San Martín to the far reaches of the Amazon jungle, our mission has stretched across communities, hearts, and seasons. Some days have been filled with joy — like watching young players shout memory verses after practice, or witnessing the laughter of coaches opening new soccer gear purchased through the profits of the cacao farm. Other days have been marked by fatigue — by long drives over rugged terrain, by discouragement, by the slow pace of change. But through it all, God has remained faithful.

He was faithful when we rebuilt fences on the farm that keep both crops and hope secure.

He was faithful when our teams faced illness and injury and still showed up to teach, to pray, to play.

He was faithful in the moments of quiet — when only a handful of children arrived at practice, and yet His Word was shared with power and purpose.

Faithfulness doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s quiet — like the sound of a coach rising before dawn to prepare for training, or a missionary family praying over a village they may never see again. It’s the steady rhythm of obedience that undergirds this ministry — a rhythm that has carried Empowering Quechuas from its humble beginnings to a vibrant, growing network of 10 academies and a working cacao farm.

2025 tested that faith in many ways. The cacao fields faced a stubborn fungus outbreak that threatened the year’s harvest, but God provided a yield strong enough to sustain operations and bless every academy with equipment and supplies. Where there was uncertainty, there was provision; where there was weakness, there was renewal.

And beyond the tangible, there was transformation. We’ve watched children mature into young leaders, parents re-engage with the church, and coaches become community pillars. Each story echoes the same refrain: Christ remains the same. His love has not waned; His promises have not failed.

Reflection:

Seasons change. There are times of planting and times of harvest, times of waiting and times of wonder. But the God who began this work continues it with unwavering grace. In a world that changes constantly, He is the steady hand guiding every play, every prayer, every plan.

As this year closes, we are reminded that God’s faithfulness isn’t confined to a calendar — it transcends time. The same Savior who met us in the challenges of January walks beside us in December, and He will lead us faithfully into the new year ahead.

Pray With Us:

Pray for renewed energy for our coaches, leaders, and partners as we prepare for a new year of ministry. Pray that 2026 will bring not just growth, but deeper roots — in faith, in fellowship, and in impact. And as we look ahead, may we do so with full hearts, confident that the God who sustained us through every season of 2025 will continue to lead us into every promise of the future.

Closing Thought:

At Empowering Quechuas, our work is measured not in numbers but in stories — stories of faith that endures, love that serves, and a God who never changes. As we reflect on this year’s journey, we see not only what we’ve done, but Who has carried us through it all. And so, as one family united in mission, we look forward to the next chapter — ready to follow wherever His faithfulness leads.
